Results as less about the end game, and more about a phase of discovery and optimisation.

Results as less about the end game, and more about a phase of discovery and optimisation. Over the years, I’ve honed a process that helps us frame getting those results and keeps us focused on the outcome. The best way I’ve found to assess a product is to use the ‘Holy Trinity’ of metrics, the Desirability, Viability, Feasibility (DVF) framework.

It was developed by IDEO, a global design company that  onceptualised the design thinking methodology, which included using desirability, viability, and feasibility as a framework to test ideas.

When our product or service hits the overlapping circles of desirability, viability and feasibility, we’ve hit the centre of our target and it’s time to scale.

Hitting the DVF metrics in the bullseye won’t happen often. When they do, you hit Boost (see p143 of The Entrepreneur Within) and move on to scaling your venture, which is what the Growth chapter deals with. If not, you may need to Pause, Redisgn or press Play and continue to experiment and test. Either way, think of this as a cycle.
